The adrenergic agonists epinephrine and norepinephrine evoked maximal sweat rates of 2.0 nl X gland-1 X min-1. This trial was undertaken to assess the effectiveness of this combination in donkeys. The detomidine and butorphanol were given intravenously one after the other.
