The most obvious clinical symptoms were hyperaemic mucosae and skin lesions. The skin and mucosal lesions appeared to be caused by a leukemic form of malignant lymphoma. The lymphocytosis consisted mainly of different populations of T-lymphocytes. Histopathology and immunohistochemistry identified the malignant lymphoma as a T-cell rich B-cell lymphoma.
