Outbreak of digital extensor dysfunction compatible with acquired equine polyneuropathy observed for the first time in Iceland. Severe subcutaneous infection with Clostridium septicum in a herd of native Icelandic horses. Cellulitis due to infection with clostridia has not been documented in horses in Iceland. A 3D printed self-locking device made of polydioxanone (PDO) was developed to facilitate a standardized ligation technique. The role of saliva composition and dietary sugar in development of infundibular caries in equine cheek teeth is not fully understood.
