Examination of the urinary tract in the horse. Equine infectious anemia virus entry occurs through clathrin-mediated endocytosis. Entry of wild-type lentivirus equine infectious anemia virus (EIAV) into cells requires a low-pH step. Resistance studies of erythromycin and rifampin for Rhodococcus equi over a 10-year period. This study sought to determine whether an increase in resistance of Rhodococcus equi to the antibiotics rifampin and erythromycin occurred over a 10-year period. Cases of human and equine West Nile virus (WNV) disease reported in Texas in 2002 were analyzed to assess their temporal relationship.
