Aurantiochytrium - Feed Ingredient
Aurantiochytrium sp. is a marine microalgae-like organism naturally found in coastal and ocean environments and is recognized for its ability to produce high concentrations of long-chain omega-3 fatty acids, particularly docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). It is cultivated under controlled conditions to provide a sustainable, plant-based source of omega-3s without reliance on fish oil.
In equine nutrition, Aurantiochytrium sp. is included as a bioavailable source of DHA to support normal inflammatory responses. In horses, DHA is commonly associated with support for joint health, immune function, skin and coat quality, and normal neurological function.
The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Aurantiochytrium as an ingredient.
