Calcium Propionate - Feed Ingredient

Calcium propionate is a calcium salt of propionic acid commonly used as a preservative in animal feed. It inhibits mold and bacterial growth, extending the shelf life of feed and preventing spoilage, particularly in high-moisture or pelleted feeds. Unlike some other preservatives, calcium propionate does not produce harmful residues and is generally recognized as safe for animal consumption.

It is often included in commercial feeds, supplements, and moist feed products to maintain feed quality and stability.
