Cetylated Fatty Acids - Feed Ingredient

Cetylated Fatty Acids (CFAs) are a class of modified fatty acids in which a cetyl alcohol molecule is chemically bonded to a fatty acid, typically through an esterification process. This results in a more stable, waxy compound that retains the structural characteristics of both components. Common examples include cetyl myristoleate and cetyl oleate. CFAs are typically derived from plant or animal sources and processed to yield purified compounds for use in dietary supplements.

In equine nutrition, Cetylated Fatty Acids are incorporated as functional ingredients to support joint health, mobility, and overall musculoskeletal comfort. They are believed to work by promoting joint lubrication, modulating inflammatory responses, and supporting the integrity of connective tissues.

The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Cetylated Fatty Acids as an ingredient.
