Chicory Root - Feed Ingredient
Chicory root comes from the plant Cichorium intybus, a perennial herbaceous plant native to Europe. In animal nutrition, the root is primarily valued for its content of inulin, a type of soluble dietary fiber classified as a prebiotic.
Chicory root may be to support digestive health by promoting beneficial gut microbes via its inulin content. In addition to inulin, chicory root contains polyphenols and other compounds that may have functional effects on gut function and fermentation.
