CM Chitosan refers to carboxymethyl chitosan, a chemically modified derivative of chitosan, which itself is obtained from chitin—a natural polysaccharide found in the exoskeletons of crustaceans like shrimp and crabs. The carboxymethylation process improves chitosan’s water solubility and broadens its functional applications.
