Coenzyme Q10 - Feed Ingredient
Coenzyme Q10, also known as ubiquinone, is a fat-soluble, vitamin-like compound naturally present in most animal cells. It plays a critical role in mitochondrial energy production by facilitating electron transport in the oxidative phosphorylation pathway. It also functions as an antioxidant, helping to stabilize cell membranes and protect against oxidative damage.
In equine nutrition, Coenzyme Q10 is sometimes included in feed or supplements aimed at supporting cellular energy metabolism, particularly in performance horses with high energy demands. It may also be used in formulations intended to support cardiovascular or muscle function.
The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Coenzyme Q10 as an ingredient.
