Corn Distillers Dried Grains - Feed Ingredient

Corn distillers dried grains (DDGs) are a byproduct of the ethanol production process, made from the remaining grain residue after starch has been fermented. As a result, DDGs have a lower starch concentration than whole corn, instead making them a more fiber- and protein-rich ingredient.

In equine nutrition, DDGs can be used as an alternative protein and energy source. They provide moderate levels of digestible fiber and essential amino acid. Since DDGs have elevated phosphorus levels, they must be balanced to maintain an appropriate calcium-to-phosphorus ratio. Routine testing is warranted to ensure quality and to check for potential mycotoxin contamination,

The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Corn Distillers Dried Grains as an ingredient.
