Cornflower Leaves - Feed Ingredient
Cornflower leaves come from the Centaurea cyanus plant, commonly known as cornflower or bachelor’s button. While the vibrant blue flowers are more commonly used in herbal applications, the leaves may occasionally be included in botanical feed blends.
In equine nutrition, cornflower leaves are not a common ingredient but may be used in small quantities as part of herbal or forage mixes. They contain polyphenols and other bioactive compounds, though their nutritional contribution is minimal.
There is limited research on the effects of cornflower leaves in horses.
The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Cornflower Leaves as an ingredient.
