Dicalcium Carbonate - Feed Ingredient
Dicalcium Carbonate is an inorganic mineral produced from high-purity limestone through processes such as crushing and grinding. The final product is a fine, white powder that provides a source of calcium in a bioavailable form. It is sometimes referred to as precipitated calcium carbonate.
In equine nutrition, dicalcium carbonate is incorporated to supply dietary calcium, which is essential for bone formation, muscle contraction, and other metabolic functions. It is used to help balance the mineral content in feed formulations when combined with other calcium and phosphorus sources. Additionally, its consistent particle size and chemical stability support uniform mixing and effective distribution in compound feeds.
