Extruded Wheat Bran - Feed Ingredient

Extruded wheat bran is wheat bran that has been processed using high heat, moisture, and pressure through an extruder. This process enhances the digestibility and palatability of the bran and can improve its functional properties in feed formulations.

In equine nutrition, extruded wheat bran is used as a source of dietary fiber, moderate protein, and some B vitamins. The extrusion process reduces dust and improves uniformity, making it easier to mix into complete feeds.

While generally safe, wheat bran should be fed in moderation due to its high phosphorus and low calcium content. Long-term feeding in unbalanced amounts may disrupt mineral ratios.
