Flaxseed husks are the outer seed coats removed during the processing of flaxseeds (Linum usitatissimum). They are rich in dietary fiber, particularly soluble fiber in the form of mucilage, which can support digestive function in horses.
While flaxseed husks contribute to gut motility and are useful in fiber-focused diets, they have low digestibility and provide limited nutritional value beyond their fiber content.
