Fumaric Acid - Feed Ingredient

Fumaric acid is an organic acid naturally found in various plants and also produced synthetically for use in food and feed applications. It appears as a white crystalline powder and is a key intermediate in the Krebs (citric acid) cycle, involved in cellular energy production.

In equine and livestock feed formulations, fumaric acid is used primarily as an acidifier and preservative. Its inclusion helps lower the pH of feed or the gastrointestinal tract, which can inhibit the growth of undesirable microorganisms and improve feed hygiene.

The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Fumaric Acid as an ingredient.
