Grape - Feed Ingredient

Grapes, typically from Vitis vinifera, are nutrient-rich fruits that contain sugars, fiber, and a variety of polyphenolic compounds, including flavonoids, anthocyanins, and resveratrol. In equine nutrition, grapes are not commonly fed whole due to sugar content and variability in digestion, but grape-derived ingredients such as grape seed extract or grape pomace may be included in supplements.

Grape-based ingredients are primarily used for their antioxidant properties. Grape seed extract, in particular, is rich in proanthocyanidins and is included in formulations targeting oxidative stress, immune support, or vascular health.
