Ground Wheat - Feed Ingredient
Ground wheat is produced by grinding whole wheat kernels (Triticum spp.) into a coarse or fine meal. It includes the bran, germ, and endosperm unless otherwise specified, and is used in animal feeds as a source of energy, protein, and fiber.
In horse feed formulations, ground wheat provides a high level of starch, moderate protein, and small amounts of fat. It contributes to the energy density of the diet and is sometimes used as a partial replacement for other cereal grains. The finer grind improves digestibility but may also increase the risk of starch overload if not balanced properly in the ration.
