Hemp Seeds - Feed Ingredient

Hemp Seeds are the small, oil-rich seeds of the Cannabis sativa plant. These seeds are non-psychoactive and contain negligible levels of THC. In equine nutrition, hemp seeds may be included whole, hulled, or ground, and are valued for their nutrient-dense profile.

Hemp seeds are a rich source of plant-based protein, essential fatty acids (particularly omega-3 and omega-6), and various vitamins and minerals, including magnesium, phosphorus, and vitamin E. They are used in feed and supplement formulations to contribute both energy and high-quality protein. However, the digestibility of hemp seed protein in horses has not been thoroughly studied, and its bioavailability remains uncertain.

The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Hemp Seeds as an ingredient.
