Himalayan Salt - Feed Ingredient

Himalayan salt is a crystalline rock salt mined from ancient sea-bed deposits in the Khewra Salt Range of northern Pakistan. It consists predominantly of sodium chloride (97 – 99%), with small amounts of naturally occurring trace minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, and iron. In equine feeding programs, Himalayan salt is typically offered as weather-resistant blocks or loose granules to provide electrolytes, helping to maintain hydration, nerve impulse transmission, and acid–base balance. However, due to the iron content this form of salt is not appropriate for all horses.

The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Himalayan Salt as an ingredient.
