Hydrated Sodium Calcium Aluminosilicate - Feed Ingredient

Hydrated sodium calcium aluminosilicate (HSCAS) is a clay-based compound commonly used as a feed additive to bind and reduce the absorption of mycotoxins in animal diets. It is made up of naturally occurring minerals that have a high affinity for binding harmful toxins, particularly aflatoxins, to prevent their negative effects on animal health.

In equine nutrition, HSCAS is included in feed as a mycotoxin binder to help protect horses from toxin-related digestive and health issues. It may also aid in improving feed stability and preventing caking in pelleted feeds. While effective at reducing mycotoxin exposure when moldy or spoilt forages are being fed, long term use should be avoided, as some clay-based binders may interfere with the absorption of essential nutrients and medications

The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Hydrated Sodium Calcium Aluminosilicate as an ingredient.
