L-Valine - Feed Ingredient

L-Valine is an essential branched-chain amino acid (BCAA) that plays a critical role in protein synthesis, muscle metabolism, and energy production in horses. As an essential amino acid, L-Valine cannot be synthesized by the horse’s body and must be obtained through the diet. It is commonly found in protein-rich feed ingredients such as alfalfa, soybean meal, and other legume-based forages.

In equine nutrition, L-Valine supports muscle maintenance, recovery, and overall performance, particularly in athletic horses undergoing intense training or physical exertion. Along with leucine and isoleucine, L-Valine is involved in the regulation of nitrogen balance and tissue repair.

The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain L-Valine as an ingredient.
