Lupin Meal - Feed Ingredient

Lupin meal is a high-protein feed ingredient made from the seeds of Lupinus species, either after oil extraction or by grinding whole unprocessed seeds. It is commonly sourced from sweet lupin varieties that have been selectively bred to contain low levels of bitter alkaloids.

In equine nutrition, lupin meal is used as a plant-based protein source to support amino acid intake in grain- or forage-based diets. It also contributes digestible fiber and energy from non-starch carbohydrates, making it appropriate for horses that require low-starch feed options.
