Malt Extract Syrup - Feed Ingredient

Malt extract syrup is a viscous, sweet substance produced from the enzymatic breakdown of malted barley or other cereal grains. During processing, starches in the grains are converted into sugars—primarily maltose—resulting in a thick syrup rich in carbohydrates, with small amounts of proteins, vitamins, and minerals.

In equine nutrition, malt extract syrup may be used as a natural sweetener or flavor enhancer in feeds and supplements. It improves palatability and may contribute to energy intake through its sugar content.

The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Malt Extract Syrup as an ingredient.
