Oat Beta Glucan - Feed Ingredient
Oat beta glucan is a soluble fiber extracted from the cell walls of oats (Avena sativa). It consists of β-D-glucose polysaccharide chains linked primarily by β-1,3 and β-1,4 glycosidic bonds, which give it its viscous, gel-forming properties in the digestive tract.
In equine nutrition, oat beta glucan is occasionally included in specialized supplements for its functional properties. It may help support gut health by modulating digestion and promoting a favorable microbial environment.
