Palm Kernel Expeller - Feed Ingredient

Palm Kernel Expeller (PKE) is the byproduct remaining after mechanical extraction of oil from the kernel (seed) of the oil palm fruit. It is produced through pressing, followed by cooling and grinding, resulting in a fibrous meal with moderate energy and protein content.

As a feed ingredient, PKE is commonly used in ruminant diets and occasionally in monogastric species. In equine nutrition, its use is limited but may appear in some pelleted or mixed feeds as a source of digestible fiber and energy. PKE contains moderate amounts of crude protein, fiber, and residual oil, with a relatively low starch content.

The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Palm Kernel Expeller as an ingredient.
