Paraffin - Feed Ingredient

Paraffin, also known as mineral oil or liquid paraffin, is a petroleum-derived, highly refined hydrocarbon. It is clear, odorless, and tasteless, and comes in both liquid and solid forms. In animal feed applications, the term “paraffin” typically refers to liquid paraffin (light mineral oil).

In equine nutrition, paraffin may be used as a lubricant or processing aid in pelleted feeds to reduce dust, improve feed texture, and facilitate machinery operation during manufacturing.
