Pea Protein - Feed Ingredient

Pea protein is a plant-derived protein produced by removing the starch and fiber fractions of the pea, leaving a high-protein ingredient that typically contains 50–80% crude protein. Pea protein is a rich source of essential amino acids, particularly lysine, which is often limited in cereal-based equine diets.

In equine nutrition, pea protein is included in feed formulations and supplements as an alternative protein source. While it has a favorable amino acid profile, it is relatively low in methionine, an essential sulfur-containing amino acid necessary for muscle function, hoof health, and metabolic processes.

The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Pea Protein as an ingredient.
