Potassium Hydroxide - Feed Ingredient
Potassium hydroxide, also known as caustic potash, is a highly alkaline inorganic compound with the chemical formula KOH. It is typically used in feed manufacturing as a pH adjuster or processing aid.
In equine feed formulations, potassium hydroxide is not used as a direct nutrient source but may be involved in the processing of certain feed ingredients. For example, it can be used to treat fibrous materials like straw or hulls to improve digestibility by breaking down lignin and hemicellulose.
The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Potassium Hydroxide as an ingredient.
