Quinaquanone (Vitamin K Supplement) - Feed Ingredient
Quinaquanone is a synthetic, water-soluble form of vitamin K developed for use in animal nutrition. It typically includes stabilized versions of vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) and vitamin K2 (menaquinone) and is designed to improve absorption and shelf life compared to traditional fat-soluble forms.
In equine nutrition, vitamin K plays a critical role in blood clotting and the activation of calcium-binding proteins involved in bone metabolism. However, supplementation with vitamin K, including Quinaquanone, is generally not necessary for horses with regular access to fresh forage. Green, leafy plants naturally contain high levels of vitamin K1, and healthy hindgut microbial populations can synthesize vitamin K2.
The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Quinaquanone (Vitamin K Supplement) as an ingredient.
