Rapeseed Oil - Feed Ingredient

Rapeseed oil is a vegetable oil extracted from the seeds of Brassica napus or Brassica rapa, commonly known as rapeseed. It is obtained through mechanical pressing or solvent extraction, followed by refining to remove impurities. While similar to canola oil, traditional rapeseed oil contains higher levels of erucic acid, which may limit its use in animal feed.

In equine nutrition, rapeseed oil is used as an energy-dense feed ingredient, providing a concentrated source of digestible fats. It is rich in monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids, including omega-3 and omega-6.
