Red Dog Flour - Feed Ingredient
Red dog flour is a milling by-product obtained during the production of refined wheat flour. It consists primarily of fine particles of wheat bran, germ, and endosperm that are separated out during the sifting and purification stages. It typically contains more protein and fiber than standard wheat flour but less than wheat middlings.
In equine feed formulations, red dog flour is sometimes used as a mid-tier energy and protein source. It offers digestible carbohydrates along with moderate levels of protein and fiber. Due to its fine particle size and relatively high starch content, it is often included in pelleted or textured feeds.
The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Red Dog Flour as an ingredient.
