Soluble Kelp - Feed Ingredient
Soluble kelp refers to the water-soluble extract derived from seaweed, typically species such as Ascophyllum nodosum or Laminaria digitata. It is obtained through mechanical or chemical extraction processes that concentrate bioactive compounds while removing fibrous, insoluble components.
In equine feed and supplement formulations, soluble kelp is used primarily as a natural source of trace minerals, including iodine, potassium, magnesium, and various micronutrients. It also contains plant growth hormones such as cytokinins and auxins, along with polysaccharides and amino acids.
