Sorbic Acid - Feed Ingredient

Sorbic acid is a naturally occurring organic compound used as a preservative in equine feeds and supplements. It is effective in inhibiting the growth of mold, yeast, and certain bacteria, helping to extend the shelf life of feed products. Sorbic acid is often used in pelleted feeds, liquid supplements, and soft treats where moisture content could promote microbial spoilage.

As a feed additive, sorbic acid is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) when used at appropriate levels. It is commonly used in its salt forms, such as potassium sorbate, which is more water-soluble and easier to incorporate into feed formulations.

The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Sorbic Acid as an ingredient.
