Spelt Hulls - Feed Ingredient
Spelt hulls are the outer protective husks of the spelt grain (Triticum spelta), an ancient species of wheat. These hulls are removed during the milling or dehulling process and are considered a byproduct of spelt processing.
In animal feed, including equine diets, spelt hulls may be used as a source of insoluble fiber. They contain minimal digestible nutrients but can support gut motility and contribute to overall forage content in the diet. Due to their high fiber and low energy content, spelt hulls are generally used as a filler or roughage extender rather than a primary feed component.
The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Spelt Hulls as an ingredient.
