Whey Permeate - Feed Ingredient
Whey Permeate is a dairy byproduct obtained during the production of whey protein concentrate or isolate. After the removal of most proteins and fats from liquid whey, the remaining liquid—rich in lactose, minerals, and water-soluble vitamins—is dried to form whey permeate powder. It contains minimal protein but is high in lactose and electrolytes such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, and phosphorus.
In equine nutrition, Whey Permeate is used as a digestible carbohydrate and electrolyte source, offering readily available energy from lactose and supporting hydration and mineral balance.
The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Whey Permeate as an ingredient.
