Yeast Autolysate Dehydrated - Feed Ingredient
Yeast autolysate, dehydrated, is a feed ingredient produced by inducing the self-digestion (autolysis) of yeast cells—typically Saccharomyces cerevisiae—followed by drying. During autolysis, the yeast’s own enzymes break down cellular components, releasing peptides, amino acids, nucleotides, vitamins (notably B-complex), and cell wall fractions such as beta-glucans and mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS).
In equine feed and supplement formulations, dehydrated yeast autolysate is used for its functional and nutritional properties. It can enhance palatability, provide a natural source of micronutrients, and support digestive health through the action of its bioactive compounds. Unlike live yeast, it does not contain viable microorganisms and does not function as a probiotic, but it may support beneficial gut flora indirectly through prebiotic components.
The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Yeast Autolysate Dehydrated as an ingredient.
