Premature lactation and retention of a mummified fetus with live birth of the co-twin in a primiparous Morgan mare. This report describes a primiparous 8-year-old Morgan mare, which displayed premature lactation that began at approximately 240 d of gestation and lasted approximately 4 wk. Chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction in a horse: a case of myenteric ganglionitis. An 11-year-old Quarter horse mare was presented for recurrent episodes of colic. A chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction was diagnosed. Medical treatment and surgical resection of the colon were performed but the condition did not improve and the horse was euthanized. Multiple small-intestine intussusceptions: a complication of purpura haemorrhagica in a horse. A Belgian draft horse stallion presented with classical signs of purpura haemorrhagica: oedema of the distal limbs, ventral abdomen and head, ecchymotic haemorrhage of mucous membranes, epistaxis, fever, lethargy, reluctance to move, and anorexia. Cervical vertebral canal endoscopy in a horse with cervical vertebral stenotic myelopathy. A 3-year-old Thoroughbred gelding presented with a history of neurological signs, including incoordination in his hindlimbs, of about 7 months' duration. On initial examination, the horse exhibited ataxia and paresis in all limbs with more severe deficits in the hindlimbs. Vulvar epithelioid hemangiosarcoma with solar elastosis in a mare. A 15-year-old female gray Appaloosa horse was presented with history of a mass over the right dorsal commissure of vulva for the past 7 months. Bovine papillomavirus type 1 and Equus caballus papillomavirus 2 in equine squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck in a Connemara mare. In January 2010, 18 months after excision of an ocular squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), a Connemara mare presented with anorexia and periorbital/parotideal lesions. Persistent, widespread papilloma formation on the penis of a horse: a novel presentation of equine papillomavirus type 2 infection. A 9-year-old gelding presented with approximately 100 papillomas that covered about 75% of the distal penis. Biopsy was performed, and histology showed evidence of viral cytopathic change and koilocytosis. Concurrent nephrosplenic entrapment and acquired inguinal herniation of the jejunum in a Standardbred stallion. Therapy resistant septic enteritis due to a jejunal malformation in a 5-day-old Thoroughbred colt.
