Acetic Acid - Feed Ingredient
Acetic acid, also known as ethanoic acid, is a colorless liquid organic compound used as a feed additive and preservative. With the molecular formula CH3COOH, it is one of the simplest carboxylic acids.
In animal feed, acetic acid plays an essential role as a pH control agent. It inhibits the growth of harmful bacteria and molds in the feed, thus extending its shelf life. Acetic acid is also known for its antimicrobial properties.
