Almonds - Feed Ingredient
Almonds are the edible seeds of the Prunus dulcis tree and are composed of high levels of fat (primarily monounsaturated), protein, fiber, and micronutrients such as vitamin E, magnesium, and manganese. They are also a source of phytochemicals including flavonoids and phenolic acids.
In equine nutrition, almonds are not a conventional feed ingredient. Their high fat content and dense nutrient profile may offer energy and antioxidant value, but their use in horse feeds is rare and typically limited to niche or novelty products.
