Animal Protein Products - Feed Ingredient
Animal protein products are feed ingredients derived from the processing of animal tissues, typically sourced from poultry, beef, pork, or fish. These products include items such as meat and bone meal, blood meal, fish meal, and spray-dried plasma. They are generally high in crude protein and may provide essential amino acids, minerals (notably calcium and phosphorus), and bioactive peptides.
While commonly used in feeds for swine, poultry, and companion animals, animal protein products are not standard in equine nutrition.
