Apiculture by-products are secondary materials derived from the practice of beekeeping (apiculture) and may include items such as beeswax, propolis, pollen, royal jelly, and residual honeycomb material. These by-products vary widely in composition, with some rich in sugars, lipids, or bioactive compounds.
In animal nutrition, including equine feed, the most relevant apiculture by-product is often pollen or residual honey-containing material. These may be used in small amounts for flavor enhancement or as sources of trace nutrients and antioxidants.
