Arillus Euphoria longan (Long Yan Rou) - Feed Ingredient
Arillus Euphoria longan, commonly known as Long Yan Rou or dried longan fruit, is the aril (fleshy edible part) of the longan fruit, a tropical species in the soapberry family (Sapindaceae) closely related to lychee. The dried aril is sweet and chewy, rich in simple sugars, small amounts of vitamins and minerals, and some polyphenolic compounds.
In traditional Chinese medicine, Long Yan Rou is used for its purported calming and tonic effects. In animal nutrition, including equine diets, it is not a conventional feed ingredient. However, it may appear in herbal or traditional supplement blends, primarily as a natural flavoring agent or for its sugar content.
The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Arillus Euphoria longan (Long Yan Rou) as an ingredient.
