Calcium Carbonate - Feed Ingredient
Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) is a mineral compound derived from limestone, chalk, or marble. It is used in equine diets to supply calcium, which is essential for bone formation, muscle function, and metabolic processes.
While Calcium Carbonate is an economical supplement, its inclusion in feed formulations must be carefully balanced with other minerals, particularly phosphorus, to maintain an optimal calcium-to-phosphorus ratio. An imbalance can lead to metabolic issues and affect bone mineralization in growing horses.
