Cobalt Glucoheptonate - Feed Ingredient

Cobalt glucoheptonate is an organic source of cobalt, a trace mineral essential for vitamin B12 synthesis in horses. The chelation of cobalt with glucoheptonate enhances its bioavailability, allowing for more efficient absorption and utilization compared to inorganic cobalt sources.

In equine nutrition, cobalt is necessary for red blood cell formation, energy metabolism, and overall cellular function. Since horses rely on gut microbes to convert cobalt into vitamin B12, adequate cobalt intake supports optimal digestion and metabolic processes. Cobalt deficiency is rare, but supplementation with bioavailable forms like cobalt glucoheptonate complex can be beneficial in diets where cobalt levels are insufficient.
