Cracked Corn - Feed Ingredient

Cracked corn is whole corn that has been mechanically broken into smaller pieces. This processing increases surface area, improving starch availability and digestibility for horses compared to whole kernels.

Used as an energy source in equine diets, cracked corn is high in starch and low in fiber. It provides a concentrated source of calories and is often included in grain mixes or textured feeds.

Due to its high starch content, cracked corn should be fed with care, particularly in horses prone to insulin dysregulation, laminitis, or other metabolic issues.
