Creatine Ethyl Ester - Feed Ingredient
Creatine Ethyl Ester (CEE) is a chemically modified form of creatine, in which an ethyl ester group is attached to the creatine molecule. This modification is intended to enhance the compound’s absorption and bioavailability compared to standard creatine monohydrate.
While creatine is a naturally occurring compound involved in cellular energy metabolism—particularly the regeneration of ATP during high-intensity muscular activity—its use as a feed ingredient in equine diets is not common or widely established. Horses synthesize creatine endogenously from amino acids such as arginine, glycine, and methionine, and under typical feeding conditions, supplementation is not considered necessary.
The following equine feeds, supplements and products contain Creatine Ethyl Ester as an ingredient.
