Dried Bacillus subtilis Fermentation Extract - Feed Ingredient

Dried Bacillus subtilis fermentation extract is an equine feed ingredient derived from the controlled fermentation of Bacillus subtilis, a beneficial, spore-forming probiotic bacterium. Unlike dried fermentation products, the extract is a liquid formulation that contains bioactive compounds—such as metabolites and enzymes—produced during the fermentation process.

In equine nutrition, the Bacillus subtilis fermentation extract is sometimes included in feed formulations with the aim of supporting digestive function. Preliminary findings suggest that its components may assist in fiber digestion and contribute to maintaining a balanced gut microbiome. However, additional research is recommended to fully establish its efficacy and to determine optimal inclusion rates in equine diets.
