Dried Lactococcus lactis fermentation product is a feed ingredient derived from the controlled fermentation of substrates using the Lactococcus lactis bacterium. After fermentation, the culture medium is dried, yielding a product that contains bacterial metabolites, enzymes, and/or fermentation byproducts but not necessarily live organisms.

In equine nutrition, this ingredient is used as a feed additive to support gut health and feed efficiency. It may contribute to maintaining a favorable microbial environment in the hindgut by promoting beneficial microbial activity and helping with nutrient breakdown. The fermentation byproducts can include organic acids and enzymes that aid in digestion.
