Dried Milk - Feed Ingredient

Dried Milk, also known as milk powder, is produced by removing water from liquid milk through spray-drying or drum-drying processes. It may be derived from whole milk, skim milk, or whey, and the final product contains a concentrated form of the original nutrients—primarily proteins (casein and whey), lactose, and minerals such as calcium and phosphorus.

In equine nutrition, dried milk is not a common ingredient in adult horse feeds but may be used in foal milk replacers, creep feeds, or specialty supplements. It serves as a source of high-quality, easily digestible protein and energy, particularly valuable in early life stages or during periods of recovery.
